THE MAN ON THE MOON

10th March 2016, a spontaneous and scary decision for me to publicly blog my life with the idea that there is nothing off limits here. I'm really quite terrible when it comes to talking about myself, you know when you sit and think, what makes me interesting? Then you find a few things and realise they aren't that interesting. So if you've read this far then I will continue to bore you with a little summary about myself.

I lift weights, I love lifting weights. Me, some heavy music (usually gangster rap or death metal, there isn't really an in between when I'm training. Training helped me learn to control my depression, I have also noticed so does writing (hence is why I'm here!).

I should have begun with 'Hi, My name is Dan' but I thought that may be obvious from my blog name, then again, maybe not.

Hi, My name is Dan, I have a chemical imbalance in my brain (or so they say), which quite clearly causes me to go off topic and over think every scenario and I occasionally ramble on when I'm not sure what I'm going to say next, I'm quite different. Sometimes I get severely depressed for no reason, eat junk food and lose any and all motivation for weeks at a time and other times, well I'm productive, I work hard, I train as if my life depended on it and I eat right.

Currently I operate a traffic desk and I am the head of IT here. Yes it's boring, but I have good opportunities here, this is I hope going to be the biggest chapter and learning curve in my life to enable me all the things I want from life, fitness, travel, sun, happiness.. Mainly happiness.

Thanks to MrTomJames, also a new blogger (check out his blog here!), I made the decision to publicly state who I am to add a more personal touch and help to open up the stigma of depression and suicide in males (obviously I am not shunning any mental health issues in women at all, quite the opposite in fact, I love seeing how much work people have put into understanding and recognising mental health issues, I have just noticed that it seems slightly more rare that a male opens up about mental health issues.)

Basically, I wish to help and inspire people with my blog, purely by talking openly about anything and everything really. Stay tuned I guess!
